Through My Mission, the Foundation focuses on humanitarian and medical initiatives, supporting organizations and professionals who bring care to underserved regions. We prioritize projects that combine immediate support with long-term impact, fostering local know-how and sustainable healthcare solutions—particularly in the field of orthopedics, where Medacta’s expertise can make a real difference.
Within this framework, Medacta for Life Foundation and Medacta are proud to support Association Morija, a swiss-based non-profit organization active primarily in Africa and the Sahel region. Association Morija is a dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations through social, humanitarian, and medical initiatives, without discrimination. Its work is guided by values of solidarity, dignity, and respect, and is carried out in collaboration with local and international partners.
One of the key projects supported by Association Morija is the Centre Médico-Chirurgical (CMC) in Kaya, Burkina Faso, a reference center for the treatment of physical disabilities. The CMC is the only facility in the region offering comprehensive orthopedic care, combining surgery, physiotherapy, and orthopedic devices. Each year, the center provides care to over 1,400 patients—many of them children—who would otherwise have little or no access to specialized treatment.
In a context where orthopedic care is scarce and often unaffordable, the CMC plays a crucial role in restoring mobility, autonomy, and social inclusion. A strong emphasis is placed on skills sharing and collaboration with local medical staff, ensuring continuity of care and long-term impact within the community.
