Medacta International SA, through Medacta for Life Foundation, is joining the support initiative for Vallemaggia and Mesolcina. The action comes in response to an appeal launched by AITI, usam, and Cc-Ti to trade associations and companies operating in Italian-speaking Switzerland.
Torrential rains and major natural disasters have recently hit Ticino, causing extensive damage in the Vallemaggia and Mesolcina regions and leaving behind destruction and suffering for local communities. The main economic associations in the area – the Unione Svizzera Arti e Mestieri (usam), l’Associazione Industrie Ticinesi (AITI) and the Camera di Commercio, dell’Industria, dell’Artigianato e dei Servizi del Cantone Ticino (Cc-Ti) – have joined forces to launch an extraordinary support initiative, mobilising their members. The action is intended to be a sign of solidarity and commitment towards the affected regions, and to demonstrate the proximity of the Ticino economy and companies to the needs of the region. On the one hand, it is a question of providing immediate support to the valleys affected by the bad weather, and on the other hand, it is a signal of attention to ensure a sustainable future for the affected regions, enabling them to maintain the attractiveness necessary for their economic recovery. Medacta International and the Medacta for Life Foundation are responding to the call, a support donation on top of what we have already provided on our own initiative to help the two affected municipalities.
