Dear Friends and Families
We are very pleased to share with you the following updates:
– Yesterday a truck left for Przemysl, a Polish city less than 100 km from Lviv (Ukraine), with the load of in-kind goods raised for the population in Ukraine. From Poland, the goods will be customs cleared and continue to their final destination. Nine are the pallets of goods we have assembled, we find attached some photos of documentation.
Considering the numerous ongoing collections and the recent urgent needs expressed by those operating in the area, we have decided to stop the collection of goods in kind for the time now. Thank you therefore to suspend the supply of goods to the warehouses in Rancate.
– Medacta for Life Foundation financed the purchase of a three-probe ultrasound scanner for paediatric use through the Rava Foundation. The instrument, worth 21,000 Euros, was requested because it is essential for Prof. Bodnar at the Children’s Hospital in Chernivtsi; the equipment they currently have is inadequate and largely obsolete, and the new ultrasound scanner is an indispensable asset.
– Our efforts are now focused on supporting the reception of refugees arriving in our territory:
My School Ticino is therefore opening its doors to children in need of schooling.
– My Languages is working to organise language support courses. The aim is to facilitate the insertion of children and adults welcomed in the area, through a project that will start these days.
We are therefore looking for people to be trained in the short term (not necessarily professional teachers) who have knowledge of Russian and/or Ukrainian and who speak Italian, willing to contribute on a voluntary basis. Please let us know of any possible availability.
The collection of financial donations remains active, which helps us to sustain the above-mentioned projects and others that are carefully examined and of which you will be informed. Please find below the bank details where you can make your contribution:
